Like Sleeping in a Teepee…

I finally got my wife to go camping with me!  We planned a trip with our friends down to Turkey Run State Park.  It happened a couple weeks ago but I haven’t uploaded any pictures until now.

There were going to be six of us but one couple decided not to go. So it was just me and Our room for the nightthe girls… Leslie, Kelly, my wife, and I.  We took a big tent with us but when we got to the campground our site came with a teepee!  Of course we couldn’t pass up a night in a teepee so we moved our things inside.  There was a fire ring in the middle which we used to cook our dinner.  You can see the smoke coming of the top in the picture.

Warm and cozy by the fireHere is a picture of us laying in our beds by the fire.  I thought it was a pretty cool experience.  My wife wasn’t so sure.  She’s not a big fan of bugs or dirt but she made it through the night.

The second best thing of the trip (of course the teepee was the best) was hiking through the state park.  There were a number of different trails and not all of them were boring flat trails.  Here are a few more pictures from the park.  I took a whole lot more and I’m hoping to find a decent site or means to share all my photos with the world.  Maybe by next summer I’ll have that set up…

Boulder Canyon Who put these ladders here? Beautiful Butterfly A river runs through it I'm glad that log was there

I tried to be a little more creative with the pictures.  I still might try one of those plugins.  Maybe when school starts and I actually have internet access more than once every few weeks….

Hey Brandon, sounds like a very neat camping experience! It’s been YEARS since I have been camping… probably the last time I was camping was when I was still living with Grandma and Grandpa and we stayed out to Juniper Hills…
