Ceramics by Brandon "Fuzzy" Schwartz

clay studioMy main focus in the ceramics field has been functional, wheel thrown, stoneware pieces. I like to make pieces that are sturdy and useful. I also search for beauty in simple forms and use glazes to enhance the proportions and forms. Everything is hand made, bisque fired, glazed and then glaze fired. I also use some low fire clay and glazes once in a while. I created a series of pit fired vessels which was a great learning experience and I also like to make some slab or coil pieces sometimes.

Ceramics

I got to work with clay in Middle School and High School art classes but it wasn't until college that I got to work on the wheel. I only took one ceramics class but I enjoyed it so much that I decided to focus on wheel thrown ceramics as one of my senior projects. Now that I'm out of school I have been piecing together my dream clay studio. With a lot of help from my family I have a pretty good start. Click here to see more about the studio.
