Most of my painting experience has been with oil paint. Oil paint can be used for a variety of techniques. I usually concentrate on an indirect style of painting where a painting is built up using many layers of paint. I'm most interested in the glazing technique in which many layers of transparent paint give the painting rich, translucent colors.
Many of my paintings depict still life settings. This type of subject works well with the time consuming techniques that I use and the desire to really study my subject and reproduce it in a realistic manner.

Painting
I have always enjoyed painting, even as a little kid. College was my first experience with oil paints. I loved studying the old masters and trying to learn how they painted their masterpieces. Oil painting has such a long rich tradition which makes me feel like I'm part of something special.
