Creative Process

Create. Experiment. Explore. Solve problems. These are all things that I love about photography, ceramics and design. I'm most interested in finished work but the process is often just as important. I'm always looking to refine what I do do get a better or more efficient result.

Pottery and Ceramics

I concentrate on functional, wheel thrown pottery. After a piece is dry it is bisque fired and glazes are applied by brushing, pouring or dipping. I glaze fire to cone 6 (a little over 2200°F).

Photography

I work with digital SLR equipment to capture images and then use a computer and special software for editing.

Design

I use Adobe's Creative Suite when working on computer based projects. Dreamweaver and Photoshop are used for web design and Illustrator is usually my program of choice for logos and other graphic design.

Two Dimensional Art

Most of my two dimensional art consists of realistic oil paintings. I usually build up many translucent layers of paint to achieve a certain look which is a long process.
